Chapter 21 – Back Home to Marry Off Myself Novel

Suddenly, Cormac felt extreme anger.

Cormac couldn’t help feeling angry. But he couldn’t understand why would she be angry this much.

Cormac said coldly, “What are you doing here?!”

Hearing that, even though Loredana didn’t know Cormac for so long, she still immediately realized who was talking. She turned her head. She was right. Cormac was standing in front of her. Cormac’s expression was so gloomy that even could make people feel scared. He said, “What did I say last time? How dare you ignore what I said!”

Loredana subconsciously left Sampson’s hug. She was so worried about Maxina that she didn’t pay attention to how close Sampson was to her.

“I…” just when Loredana was about to explain what happened, Sampson grabbed her wrist. Sampson looked at Cormac and said, “Your marriage is only for one month. It’s just a deal. You will get what you want. What reason do you have to interfere in her private affairs?” knowing how hard Loredana’ life was,

Sampson was heartbroken and he promised himself that he would cherish and protect Loredana with all his heart.

Cormac stared at Sampson clutching Loredana’ wrist. For a moment, he showed a mocking sneer on his face, “You let a woman who is pregnant with your child marry another guy. And now you come back to her as a protector?” suddenly, he stared at Sampson as if it was a sharp sword that would kill Sampson with no mercy. “You are such a coward!”

Loredana’ heartbeat so fast out of shame and helplessness from what Cormac said.

Loredana couldn’t believe that Cormac would think that Sampson was the father of her child. She was grateful and respectful to Sampson. How could she shame Sampson by admitting such a thing? She took her hand out from Sampson’s and looked at Cormac, “You can say anything to me. But leave

Sampson alone.”

Cormac got surprised by Loredana’ reaction and couldn’t help thinking that they loved each other. How ridiculous it was! Cormac got angry. She was now his wife, but she showed affection with other men in front of him! However, no matter how angry Cormac was, he understood that what Sampson said was right. Their marriage was indeed a deal. He didn’t have the right to blame her. But at the same time, he indeed hated seeing them being together.

“If you still want the land of Repulse Bay, come to me.” After speaking, he turned around and left.

Loredana was taken aback for several seconds. She didn’t expect the opportunity she had given up would come back to her again.

For her, the temptation was great. If she got the right to trade that piece of land, she would have the bargaining chance to negotiate with Garrett instead of being suppressed by him.

“Lola.” Sampson was a little worried; it seemed that Loredana was interested in what Cormac offered.

Loredana shook her head, “I’m fine.”

Twenty minutes later, Maxina was pushed out of the operating room. Maxina fainted due to breathlessness out of anger. Loredana was the only family she had now. Hearing that others insulted her daughter, Maxina couldn’t ignore it. Seeing what was written on the wall, Maxina couldn’t bear it anymore and faint.

“The patient fainted out of anger. Make sure she can take a good rest and won’t have major emotional changes.” After taking Maxina to the ward, the doctor explained.

Loredana nodded, “Thank you, doctor.”

Loredana knew that her brother’s death had a great influence on Maxina. If it weren’t for her, Maxina would have already committed suicide. She thought it would be better to keep Maxina away from the city where her brother dead. She didn’t expect that Maxina would be hurt again because of her.

However, not many people knew that she was pregnant. Who let the news out? And why did that person do so? What was the purpose?

Sampson knew what Loredana was thinking. He walked over, “You two can’t live in that apartment anymore. I’ll find a new place for you.”

Loredana nodded. Indeed, they couldn’t live there anymore, or else Maxina would be hurt again.

“I want to find out who did it.” Loredana felt that this was not accidental, but someone deliberately did it.

“Leave it to me.” Sampson smiled, “Think of me as your brother, your family.”

Loredana looked at Sampson, feeling emotional. Sampson was so good to her. She didn’t know what to do to recompense.

Loredana lowered her head and said nothing. But she made a silent decision in her heart, someday she would recompense him when indeed.

Now she needed someone to help her figure out the whole thing. Otherwise, she would be always uneasy and worried that even if they moved to a new residence, someone would come over and make

Maxina hurt deliberately.

Thinking about what Cormac said before he left, Loredana felt distressed. Sampson thought she was tired, so he said, “Go back to rest. I will be here taking care of Maxina.”

“But…”

“I work in this hospital anyway. I have my own office and restroom, and I can take care of your mother.

Loredana looked at Maxina who was still in a coma, hesitated, and said, “If she needs me, please call me.”

Loredana gave her phone number to Sampson and left the hospital.

Back at the villa, Loredana only saw Coral at home. She frowned, “Is Cormac not home?”

Coral looked at the study, “He is there.”

Loredana changed her shoes and walked in. she walked towards the study, hesitated in front of the door for a while, then knocked on the door. She knocked several times and no one answered. She frowned, twisted the handle, and gently pushed the door open.

Cormac leaned back on the chair, closed his eyes. It was hard to tell if he fell asleep already.

Loredana walked in slowly, stood in front of the desk, and whispered, “Mr. Mendelsohn?” Cormac slowly raised his eyelids and stared at Loredana who stood in front of him. Cormac was surprised that Loredana would call him Mr. Mendelsohn.

Loredana rubbed her hands out of nervousness. Her palms were even sweating, “You said, you can give me the land of Repulse Bay?”

Cormac half-closed his eyes. His lips curled up, “I’m a businessman. I never do anything with no benefit.”

Loredana instantly felt disappointed. She knew she was being ridiculous. How could Cormac help her unconditionally? She had nothing to offer. How could she exchange for this piece of land?

“I think this piece of land would be very useful to you.” Cormac sensed her retreat. Garrett sent her and her mother to another country without any help. They lived a hard life and her brother even dead.

Cormac knew how much Loredana hated Garrett. He thought that Loredana wanted that piece of land because she wanted to give it to Garrett. Now he knew he was wrong.

“But I have nothing to exchange with you.” Indeed, Loredana wanted to get that piece of land.

Cormac raised his eyelids, looking mature and sexy, “You do.”

“What?”

“You.”

Loredana was taken aback for several seconds, “Me?”

Cormac stood up and walked forward. As he approached, Loredana retreated instinctively. Cormac grabbed her shoulders, “Why are you backing? Are you afraid that I will eat you?”

Loredana didn’t know why she was afraid of him. But somehow she knew he was not as nice as he showed her.

Suddenly Cormac smiled lightly, “Why? Have you done something wrong? That’s why you don’t dare to look at me? Because you are guilty?”

What had she done? Loredana raised her head, “Why do I feel guilty?”

Her chin was raised. They were so close that Cormac could even feel her breath, which somehow made Cormac felt familiar.
