Chapter 153 – Twisted Fate of a Billionaire’s Daughter Undercover

After Ashlyn reluctantly got into his car, Gordon started the car and started driving.

Ashlyn had just drunk wine, and she felt tipsy because of it.

The wine was making her feel hotter and more uncomfortable with every second that passed. She looked out of the window and watched as they went passed buildings at an amazing speed.

“Do you mind if I roll down the window?” she suddenly asked.

All the windows were closed since the air conditioner was on in the car.

“No!”

Gordon said and stole a glance at Ashlyn.

Since their divorce, they rarely had such a peaceful moment, and he didn’t want to ruin it.

Ashlyn rolled down the window a little and hot air immediately hit her in the face.

Compared to the cold temperature in the car, the air from outside was hot.

But after a short while, she became more comfortable with the natural wind on her face.

Since the wind was strong, Ashlyn sobered up quickly.

They got toa red light and Gordon stopped.

Gordon used this opportunity to look at her.

“Where do you want to go?” he asked.

Ashlyn checked the time on her wrist watch and saw that it was almost ten o’clock. It wouldn’t be appropriate if they sat down somewhere to talk and eat.

“Let’s go to Riverside Park,” Ashlyn said without thinking too much.

Riverside Park was just beside the river, and at least no one would get the wrong idea if someone took a picture of them for the media.

After all, people went there at night for walks.

“Okay!”

After Gordon said this, silence returned to the car again.

Gordon had never been the type of person to initiate a conversation. He wanted to say something, but as he looked at the side of her face, he didn’t what to say or how to start.

Could he tell Ashlyn that he loved her as his grandpa advised him to do? He wanted to, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

“The light is green!”

Ashlyn suddenly said.

The green light had been on for a while and cars had been honking, but it seemed like Gordon wasn’t hearing a thing.

Ashlyn’s voice brought him back to reality.

Quickly, he stepped on the gas and drove off.

Ten minutes later, they got to Riverside Park.

Gordon found a good place by the river to park the car.

As soon as they were parked, Ashlyn got out of the car and walked to the guardrail without waiting for Gordon.

Gordon picked up the file from the backseat before he got out of the car and walked to Ashlyn.

“What did you want to talk about?”

Ashlyn had never spoken to anyone about that night four years ago.

Even Jessie didn’t know what had happened.

If Gordon hadn’t brought it up, Ashlyn would have never agreed to come with him.

Gordon gave her the file he was holding and said, “This is what Lowell found out.”

They stayed silent for a while before Gordon looked at Ashlyn with a straight face and added, “I thought you drugged me that night.”

Ashlyn, who was about to open the file, paused after he said this.

Then she looked up at him and said with a sarcastic smile, “You overestimate me.”

Then, she opened the file and quickly read through the page.

When she was done, she gave Gordon back the file and looked at him indifferently.

“So, why did you want to see me tonight? Are you trying to say that you hated me all these years because you thought I drugged you that night? If that’s what you want to say, then please just keep it to yourself. It’s not just stupid, but ridiculous too!”
