Chapter 135 – Love Entangled with Her Unconscious Husband Novel Free (Volume II)

Elyette carried a basin of hot water and placed it by her feet.

“Are you booking flight tickets?” He looked at the screen of her phone. “Book one for me too. We’ll go back together.”

Averie glanced at him coldly. “Can’t you do that yourself?”

“My phone ran out of battery.” Elyette bent down in front of her. He grabbed her foot with his slender fingers.

Averie was stunned. She immediately pulled her foot back. “Elyette, what are you doing!”

Elyette grabbed her foot tightly and took her socks off. He looked at her. “Book a flight ticket for me.”

His eyes clearly told her that he was going to wash her feet as she booked their flight.

Averie had goosebumps.

“Let go of my feet! I’ll book one for you!” His hand was wrapped tightly around her foot. She felt warm.

Elyette placed her foot in the basin. He did not let her go.

Averie was a little annoyed. She was not used to him being so sappy. “Where the hell did you learn this from?”

“Let me stay here tonight,” Elyette demanded hoarsely. “I’m worried about you staying alone. If you’re not willing to share the bed with me, I’ll sleep on the table.”

Averie was speechless. He stared at her with his dark onyx eyes. Her mind was a mess.

Her lips moved. She wanted to say something when a rumble came from outside the window. It started pouring!

Rain pelted her window. The sound was deafening.

Averie furrowed her brows.

She wondered whether the flights the next day would be canceled because of the heavy rain.

What really ruined her mood, however, was the fact that she would be unable to refuse Elyette’s

request.

Elyette calmly washed Averie’s feet and then gently wiped them dry with a tissue. He took his time.

Averie was blushing. She tried to retract her feet back a few times, but Elyette stopped her from

doing so.

The tingling in her feet that bloomed with every caress of his hands traveled to her heart.

“Do you think the flights will be canceled tomorrow?” Elyette finally let her go.

“Don’t jinx it!” Averie was desperate to return at that moment.

Elyette picked up the basin and went over to the washroom to pour out the dirty water. When he went back to her, he saw that she looked gloomy ande8 agitated.

“Are the flights canceled?” He guessed.

“Hmm.” Averie placed her phone down, feeling depressed. “There are fruits and snacks in the bag, have some.”

Although Elyette was hungry, his appetite had vanished when he saw her in that state.

Averie was holding onto a kettle, intending to boil some water. Elyette took the kettle and said,” Go and lie down.”

She listlessly walked over to the side of the bed and sat down. All she could think about what Hayden.

Before Hayden had turned one, he was just like any other kid. He would occasionally cry and throw tantrums. However, once he had turned one, all the crying and tantrums had ceased.

Averie could not even imagine what her son would look like if he were to cry.

Hayden was willing to stay in the elite class because the elite class was not as rigid as the ordinary class.

The elite class was taught using a curriculum that was tailored for child geniuses – which all the students were.

Geniuses exceeded the intellect of an average person. They were usually more self-absorbed, and they rarely paid attention to other people. This was the other reason why Hayden had decided to stay on with the school after the first day.

Averie was initially happy that Hayden had found a suitable place, but she had forgotten the pressure that he would face when placed in such an environment.

“Are you worried about Hayden?” After plugging in the kettle, Elyette looked at her. “Don’t worry, he will learn how to handle the stress.”

Averie looked at him, stunned. “How do you know?”

Elyette pursed his lips. Instantly, a thousand thoughts ran through his mind.

“How do I know? I know because Hayden is my son,” he thought.

Hyden’s temperament was just like his. He was always hard on himself. If he failed to achieve something, he would sink into self-denial and depression. However, his failure would only serve to motivate him to work harder to achieve his goal.

“Because he is your son, I believe in him,” Elyette said while looking at her deeply.

Averie’s heart skipped a beat. She staggered and lay down in bed.

Elyette strode over to the bed and tucked her in.

“Averie, can I have a look at your tummy?” Elyette sat down on the side of the bed. His eyes pleaded for her to allow him this one request.

Averie’s face felt hot. “Why do you want to look at it?”

He felt as if a ball of fire was stuck in his throat. He said hoarsely, “I want to look at our child.”

“You can’t see it now,” said Averie, turning down his request.

“Oh, then how much longer?” When he asked this question, he felt extremely bitter.

Five years ago, she had stayed with him till she was about to give birth to Hayden.

He wanted to know how her pregnancy had escaped his notice? Did her stomach not grow bigger?

Averie did not know that Elyette knew that Hayden was his son, so she did not think much about his question.

“About five to six months!”

Averie had deliberately eaten less when she was pregnant with her children. This enabled her to maintain her weight and better allowed her to hide her pregnancy.

However, with this pregnancy, she did not control her food intake. She guessed that in five or six months, she would begin to show.

Elyette’s eyes filled with tears. He sighed and said, “Averie, you are right. I’m the world’s stupidest man.”

“Have I ever said such a thing?” Averie looked at him, taken aback. She did not know why he

had suddenly said that.

“You said it before.” Elyette felt helpless beneath Averie’s gaze. He turned away. “I’ve never really been willing to admit my mistakes, but this is a mistake.”

“Everyone makes mistakes.” Averie looked at his handsome side profile. She could not help but lower her voice a little.

The topic was a little heavy, and Averie found it hard to clear her thoughts at that moment, so she changed the topic. “Could you please wash an apple for me? Thank you.”

Elyette immediately washed an apple and passed it to her.

“Have some too,” Averie said awkwardly. She sat up with the apple in her hand.

35″Hmm.”

It was pouring outside but silent indoors.

After Averie finished the apple, she lay in bed. She was still conflicted as to whether she should allow him to share the bed withe8 her.

The rain caused the temperature to drop significantly. The room lacked a radiator. If he were to sleep on the desk, he would catch a cold.

However, Averie could not find it in her to share her bed with him. A moment later, Elyette came out of the washroom after his shower. He asked her whether she wanted to switch off the lights.

Averie responded and Elyette switched off the lights.
