Then, with a few words, Old Mr. Wright described his requirements for his ideal future granddaughter-in-law.
“So you want to find a pretty, kind and considerate wife for your grandson. And you want her to be good at taking care of others, right?” Tammy summarized.
With a short pause, she added, “Based on what you said, I think my mommy meets all your requirements. I need to find a husband for my mommy while you want to find a wife for your grandson. We share the same goals. You can tell that I’m a good girl and how well my mother raised me, can’t you?”Amazed by how mature and smart Tammy was for a kid her age, Old master Wright was increasingly impressed by this little girl and wondered how her mother could raise such a confident child. And the more he looked at her, the more he liked Tammy.
“Can I have a look at your mommy’s photo? I want to know what she looks like,” Smiling, Old Mr. Wright said to Tammy gently.
“Yes, of course!” Tammy opened her bag and handed a picture of her mother to old master Wright, replying, “My mommy’s beautiful.”
Old master Wright looked at the photo, nodded, and handed the photo to his assistant. He uttered, “Why don’t you take a look?”
After scrutinizing the photo, the assistant said, “Sir, she seems to be a wonderful person.”
“So it’s decided!” Old master Wright laughed and said, “So, kiddo. How about letting me see your mommy and talk with her someday?”
“Sounds good to me!” Tammy was surprised at how well this went and added, “Sir, if my mommy ends up with your grandson, then I’ll definitely treat you as my real great-grandpa.”
“How sweet of you,” Old master Wright remarked happily.
Later on, they started to exchange stories about Wayne and Anna. Tammy told Old master Wright many interesting stories about Anna. Hearing that, Old master Wright was increasingly eager to meet Anna.
After the conversation was over, they sent Tammy home. It wasn’t until Old master Wright made sure that Tammy went home safely that he asked the driver to drive them home.
On the way, the assistant asked, feeling a bit puzzled, “Sir, Mr. Wright is a successful and wealthy businessman. Don’t you think Mr. Wright deserves someone better than a single mom like Ms. Gabriel?”
“Easy for you to say so. You think I haven’t thought about it? I met many rich ladies. But all of them are spoiled by their parents. How could they possibly take care of Matthew when they need several maids to serve them every day? What’s wrong with single mothers? At least they take care of their children. I feel that we are lucky to have the chance to meet Anna,” Old master Wright glared at the assistant and explained.
The assistant quickly replied, “That’s true.”
“Tammy was well raised. Can you imagine if Wayne had known her much earlier? Then our Matthew would be well taken care of and the incident three years ago would not have happened!” Old master Wright sighed regretfully.
“Sir, you can’t keep blaming yourself for it. It had been three years. Furthermore, Master Wayne never blamed you for it,” The assistant quickly consoled him.
Old master Wright replied, “Of course he blames me. Otherwise, he would’ve left Matthew with me and he wouldn’t have taken Matthew with him even when he was on his business trips. Alas… It’s all my fault. If it weren’t for me, Matthew wouldn’t have been so scared that he refused to speak.”
