The person she was chatting with then sent many texts and emojis and appeared very excited. Isabella couldn’t see what she had just said. She scrolled back up the chat and read their entire conversation.
That guy said, “Isabella, I like you. I’ve had a crush on you since you first walked into the classroom. If you say yes, I’ll fly to England to meet you.”
“What happens if I don’t say yes?”
“Then I’ll think of something else. I’ve already bought my ticket and I can’t return it.”
“OK.”
This conversation was very cute, as if the youth was going to spill out from between the lines. Isabella felt like she was finally living like a teenager when she saw the boy’s avatar. She knew that was the way her life would be.
The next morning, while Anna was still sleeping, two girls entered her room and said, “Bye, Anna.”
“Bye, baby,” Anna said, dazedly nodding.
After kissing Anna on the cheek, the two girls left the house to go shopping. They walked around the clothing and cosmetics counters at the mall.
“I’ll pay for it, and you pick it out, just like before,” Isabella said.
Tammy said with a nod, “No problem! I know what Mom likes best, and she likes every gift I give her.”
They then went to a luxury store and began looking at handbags.
“This large bag has a lot of space. It’s very practical, and it’s really pretty. What do you think?” Tammy asked.
“Hi, can you get this bag for me?” Tammy said to the salesperson, pointing to a shelf that was taller than her.
“Yes, it does look quite nice,” Isabella said after trying on the bag.
Tammy went to the bathroom when it was time to check out because she had a stomach ache. Isabella took her credit card and paid the bill. The salespeople didn’t expect Isabella to be so wealthy, so she was surprised. Then she heard someone say, “What a lovely bag! Please take one for me.”
Isabella and the sale both turned around and saw a woman dressed in a green Chanel suit. She wore light makeup, which made her look elegant.
“I’m sorry, Miss Turner. This is the last one. It’s a new limited edition model that we just got in,” said the salesperson, who clearly knew Rachel.
Rachel frowned and asked unhappily, “Why didn’t you tell me about the new arrivals? I haven’t seen a pretty bag like this since last year!”
“Sorry. I haven’t had a chance to tell you about this yet because it arrived today.”
Isabella was not interested in listening to their chat. Rachel called out to her when she was about to leave with the bag. She caught up with Isabella and said, “Little girl, I really like this bag. Could you please sell it to me?”
Isabella was irritated. She said unhappily, “Sorry, but it’s a birthday present I bought for my family. I’m not interested in selling it.”
Rachel chuckled and said, “So, how much are you asking for it? I can give you whatever you want. “
Isabella pondered it and asked, “Is $100,000 OK?”
Rachel said in surprise, “What?! I can buy several of these bags with that money!”
“Then you can just go buy them!” Isabella said calmly to her.
Rachel was at a loss for words. She couldn’t get another one because it was a limited edition bag.
Just then, Matthew, who was standing nearby, said, “I’m taking the bag.”
Matthew slowly walked over to Isabella. He was dressed casually in a white suit and appeared very calm.
Isabella froze when she realized the boy looked familiar. “Do you want it?” she asked.
“Yes. Have you regretted it?”
“One hundred thousand dollars. Would you like to give me cash or a check?”
Matthew thought the girl in front of him looked very familiar, and he gently explained, “Don’t be mad, I just really like this bag. I’m buying it from you because I want to give it to someone.”
Isabella didn’t like what they were doing and thought there was no way the woman could have spent that much money on the bag. However, she didn’t expect this kid to do that.
Also, Isabella felt she couldn’t go back on her word because she had already said it. So, she said, “Just transfer the money to my bank card.”
Before Matthew could say anything, Rachel came over and said to Isabella meanly, “Do you think you can bully Matthew because he’s a kid? I’m telling you, I don’t want this bag anymore!”
Isabella said, rolling her eyes at Rachel, “If you don’t have the money, you can just tell me. You can’t say you don’t want it after you’ve asked the price. It’s pretty humiliating.”
“What are you talking about? You are so rude!”
Isabella said angrily, “You are the one who’s rude! You think you’re the only rich person in the city? If you really want this bag, you should have been nicer to me! Do you think you own this mall?”
Rachel triumphantly raised her chin and exclaimed, “Yes!”
“Give me your bank card number and I’ll give you the money now,” Matthew said to Isabella after stopping Rachel from saying anything else.
Isabella said to Matthew, glaring at Rachel. “Dude, your nanny is so rude. You’d better get another one.”
“Are you calling me a nanny? What are you talking about？ You bitch!”
Matthew gave Rachel a look and said, “Stop it! You’d better watch your language. You don’t want me to tell my father what you said, do you?”
Isabella realized that this condescending woman might be the boy’s stepmother, but he didn’t seem to want to talk to her. A few seconds later, Isabella received a text message saying she had received $100,000 in her account. She handed the bag to Matthew and said, “Here you go. Bye.”
Matthew nodded. He looked at Isabella’s back, then asked, “Have we met somewhere before?”
She didn’t stop, just turned back and smiled and said, “That’s such a clichéd way to pick up girls.”
Matthew remained motionless and frowned tightly. He had the impression that they had met before.
Standing next to him, Rachel said, “Matthew, thank you for buying me something so expensive. I’ll pay you the money later. If your father finds out about it, he’ll think I’m rude. Let me take it for you.”
Much to her surprise, Matthew gave her a cold look and said, “It’s not for you; it’s a gift I bought for my mother.”
Rachel stood there frozen, unsure of what to do. “I’m done shopping, so I’m leaving,” Matthew said as he walked forward with his shopping bag.

Anna returned home from the hospital and found the two girls in the living room playing a game. Isabella had a great time with her gamepad, but Tammy appeared upset. She sat on the couch and frowned.
“Who upset you, my baby?” Anna asked as she pinched Tammy’s face.
“Ask Isabella. She’s the one who upset me.”
