Chapter 6: The Confrontation
Ridiculous!
Gim turned around. His handsome face had distorted its features into a look of scorn.
“You demand too much.”
Vichy replied in a low and hoarse voice.
“Do you think I require too much?”
She felt a little dizzy, but walked forward slowly and carefully, step by step. She gently pushed away the people in front of her and walked to face Gim.
She reached out to smooth his tie, just as she had countless times when they were still together.
“In order to save your childhood sweetheart, you killed my children. All I want now is your property. Do you think I require too much or do you think your sweetheart is not worth my requirements?”
She spoke each word clearly and did not look to see the changes in Gim’s face as she focused her intention on his tie. She continued.
“Well then I suppose Sherly must not be worth the trouble.”
Gim certainly understood the meaning of this sentence. His face contorted.
He held her hands and his eyes were colder. “Your children were thrown into the crematorium. They are gone. Does this answer your question?”
She dropped the tie and her body stiffened. She couldn’t hear any words.
She did not believe it.
“Where are my children?” she wailed.
She looked up again at him.
Only a monster could kill their own children.
“I have told you enough.” Gim threw her hand away, disgusted.
A couple walked by, glanced briefly at the spectacle and quickly turned away, walking more quickly than before.
Gim’s assistance walked forward to Vichy.
“Miss Sullivan, please come with us.”
“Where? I don’t have a home, and I won’t go back to be treated as a container anymore. I won’t wait for a married man to take my child’s bone marrow again!”
Her sharp voice pierced the air, carrying across the space around her.
Her chest was heaving.
Another group of people saw, heard, and decided to stop.
“Shut up.” Gim walked up to her and grabbed her chin. “I just said that I will compensate you. I will double it.”
“Don’t forget who saved you when you were chased by your enemy.”
Gim released her jaw.
“I don’t want anything from you. I just want to know, where are my children’s ashes?”
“They are randomly scattered.”
An image flashed across Gim’s eyes.
At this moment, a person ran from the hospital and said. “Mr. Hall, Miss Lynn feels bad now. She…”
Not another word, and Gim ran to the ward.
He halted, and turned to Vichy. “Go home and wait. If you have something to say, wait for me there.”
The remaining bodyguards blocked her way tightly.
Her brain was blank for a long time.
“Go away,” she said.
It had always been like this. When she thought that Sherly was his little sister, she saw the pain and worry he experienced at any sign of trouble as a brother’s love.
The bodyguard said, “Please come with us. You can’t be outside right now. You are not well.”
They continued to block her.
So she was to just obey him and stay there until he was done with Sherly? What if she needed more of Vichy’s children’s bone marrow? Was she to be kept around as a container for Sherly’s medicine?
“Go away!” she said, with more force this time.
Those bodyguards continued to block her.
“First, since Gim is going to get married, so he will have no relationship with me.”
Vichy raised her eyes and said firmly.
The bodyguards didn’t know what to do.
“Second, blocking me is a violation of my personal rights. Do you want to go to the court to discuss this matter?”
Even though Vichy’s body was weak, her words cut through the cool air.
The bodyguards frowned and still did not move away. They tried to persuade her, “Yet no lawyer will accept this case.”
The power of the Hall Group was everywhere. They were revered and feared in the community, and had full support of the people.
No one would believe her.
“There must be a brave man if I pay enough money. I will take care of it.”
Vichy looked up and said: “Even if you are not afraid of the accusations, if word gets out, the rumors will start. I cannot control the gossip. No one can.”
She looked them square in the eyes.
The bodyguards glanced nervously at each other.
Even if Gim did not care, it didn’t mean that others in the Hall Group did not.
They hesitated.
Then they asked again, “What is the third point?”
“The third point is this. There is a media everywhere. Nothing can stop this message from spreading.”
Those bodyguards who served The Hall Group didn’t notice their back until she struggled to finish speaking.
Here came a bunch of media before they knew it.
They came from different channels. Just taking a look at this big scene, it seemed that they got big troubles.
They were hesitated.
One of the bodyguards tried called Gim inquiring for his instructions, but no one answered his call.
“If you don’t give way to me, I don’t mind making everything be exposed to the media. I could destroy Gim’s public image which he has built for decades in a minute. If so, you guys can guess if The Hall Group would spare you or not?”
There was no response at all from Gim.
Watching the more and more reporters coming over, the bodyguards were somewhat uneasy.
If they screwed things up, the punishment for damaging the public image of The Hall Group would be far more severe than letting Vichy go.
They didn’t know what to do in short order.
The horde of reporters surged forward, the more closely they approaching, the more uneasy were the bodyguards.
They turned their eyes on Vichy again, to find her was abnormally calm, as if she had expected for it.
One of the bodyguards clenched his cell phone, turning it off and putting it back.
He couldn’t help but ask: “Is these reporters arranged by you?”
What a coincidence! In addition to this possibility, he couldn’t figure out another one.
“If you don’t let me go, then, in the next minute, things are going to out of your control. Such as, what questions will those reporters ask or what answers will I give. Haven’t you made decision yet?”
Vichy frowned invisibly. she still looked very calmly and powerful, She could impose her will perfectly if they didn’t notice her trembling body.
Only she knew that she had pushed herself to the limit.
Those bodyguards had balanced for a long time before making the way for her.
They couldn’t do anything but watched her leaving.
Those reporters surged up and surrounded them.”We received an anonymous message which said there was a fire alarm here. Where’s the fire ground? “
Those bodyguards finally realized that Vichy made fools of them.
There was no so called the special story about The Hall Group, it was clear that Vichy just played some cunning tricks to get away.
But when they turned their heads, she had already gone.
Vichy took a taxi, and she leaned against the back of the seat. She was too exhausted to open her eyes.
The car stopped at the place where she lived before. It was the place where she met Gim as well.
At that time, she was cast out from her family by her father and exiled to such a faraway place. She settled down all on her own. But she did not expect to get assassinated , fortunately She was rescued by Gim on the brink of getting killed.
She still remembered it rained dogs and cats that day. That was the most helpless and lonely moment in her life. He popped up from nowhere and rescued her from death. He was her saver. She didn’t know on that moment, one day, he would push her into the hell with his own hands.
When she walked into the courtyard, her mind was absent for a few seconds, but she forced herself to come back to her sense.
“Vichy.”
Hearing the noise outside, someone stepped out of the door.
It’s someone that means a lot to her and her mother,This person served her till now. He was one of the rare staff who could be fully trusted.
“My lady.”
The man walked up to her and looked around with vigilance before him taking off his hat and said with a sigh of relief.
“I don’t see any lady here.” Vichy sneered. It’s a self-mockery.
