Chapter 26 – The Moon Wolf

Rose came outside when she heard Nathan’s car stop in front of the house. She ran towards me when she saw me and hugged me.

“Oh my goddess, you look stunning. I like the color you made your hair”, she gushed over me. I wanted to tell her I did not dye my hair but decided against it. Nob*dy would believe I met with the Moon goddess in my dreams anyway.

“Let’s go inside so you can tell me all about your day and how much fun you had. I want to know everything”, she pulled me towards the house before Nathan’s voice stopped us.

“And who’s going to carry all of these loads inside, definitely can’t be me”, he said and Rose turned on him with her eyebrows raised. “You want your Luna to lift heavy loads. when you’re here? Where is your manners, young man?” She asked with her hands on her hips and Nathan bowed his head in submission.

“I’m sorry, Luna. I’ll carry all of it inside now”, Rose turned towards the house and we giggled together.

We sat at the kitchen counter while Nathan carried all of my stuff inside. Rose made him carry it to my room to which he whined and complained. He left after he was done packing it.

Rose brought out some cookies and milk for us to munch on while I recounted all of my day’s experience to her. I swear she was more excited than I was for having such a fun day.

……and she made us enter all of the stores in the mall”, was what I was talking about when Adrian entered looking all sweaty and rough.

His gaze lingered on me and I saw sadness cloud his eyes for a fleeting moment before he masked it with anger and stormed towards the stairs without saying a word to anyone, not even Rose.

I suddenly went mute. I just couldn’t understand why he would say such mean things to me without even listening to my side of the story.

I did not know I was crying until Rose wiped my cheeks. I looked towards her and saw how sorry she was for my predicament. It wasn’t her fault though, she tried her best.

“I’m so sorry, Lola. No one deserves what you’re going through”, she hugged me as I sobbed into her chest.

e soon heard Adrian come down the stairs and he left the house without saying anything to anyone.

I excused myself from the kitchen and went up to my room. I washed up and changed into a cute onesie I bought and went to bed early.

Little did I know that what I had gone through during the day was a walk in the pack compared to what was coming for me Adrian’s POV

(After he stormed out when he saw Lola with Jace)

I changed into my wolf form immediately and ran out of the pack house into the pack woods. How could she do that to her mate? I was just about to go to her and she already found another man to replace me with? Such a whore!

“Do not call mate such a degrading word, you’re no better yourself. I don’t blame her if she found another person, you treated her like she was below you when you should have cherished her as your equal. You hurt her first and now you’re mad she’s with another person? Hypocrite!” Daxon yelled in my head and I got even more angry.

“I haven’t even rejected her, Daxon. She could have given me that much respect, maybe Grayson was right about her after all”, I snarled back angrily and felt him trying to take control of my b*dy.

I blocked him out and ran towards my safe space. No one else. knew this part existed in the pack. I stumbled upon it eight years ago and it has since then, become a place I go to whenever I’m overwhelmed and need to clear my head.

I laid down with my head in between my two forearms, facing the calm river. It looked so peaceful and calm, the total opposite of what I felt inside of me.

I was troubled that I felt this way towards my own mate.

Maybe I should have listened to her but she was basically glued to that guy. They definitely are having an affair, no explanation can fix that.

I remained in my wolf form and placed one paw into the water. The coolness of the river water calmed my troubled mind a bit. I soon drifted off to sleep, forgetting all about my worries for a while.

When I woke up, I made the mistake of opening my mindlink and Daxon took that opportunity to spew words that I don’t want to listen to at that moment in my ears.

I changed back to my human form because there was a high chance of him quickly gaining control of my b*dy in my wolf form. It was evening and I was stark n*ked so I walked to one of the trees where we keep stash of clothes and got a shirt and short to wear pack in to the Herat of the pack.

While we’re werewolves and nudity is a common thing. If rather not have a lot of people gawk at what should be my mate’s alone.

I got to the house in the evening and saw Lola and mom discussing in the kitchen happily. I felt angry at the fact that she was happy while I was suffering for her actions.

I got to the kitchen area and my heart sped up from how beautiful she looked. It was obvious that she went out today. How could she have fun when I am suffering from her actions.

I stormed towards my room without saying a word to her and my mom. I had barely gotten into my room when I heard her crying. My heart broke listening to my mate cry, knowing I was the cause of it.

I couldn’t stay in the house, I felt like I was going to do something I might regret. I picked up my phone and called her, she’s always available.

“Hello Alpha. To what do I owe this pleasure?” Her voice purred on the other end of the call and I almost dropped the call.

“You’re available tonight? I need a quick fix”, I heard her giggle over the phone before she replied. “Of course, I’m free for you anytime, my Alpha. I’ll be yours soon, there’s no point in asking”, she said in what she thought was S**y but was very weird to me.
