“Nah,” Abigail said, shaking her head-her body was not in a good condition, and two sons were plenty.
“But you need another daughter,” Erin reasoned. “My brother would love to have one.”
“He can have one himself if he wants,” Abigail joked.
As they laughed, Diarmuid and James arrived, and Erin rose to her feet. “Are we heading home?”
James nodded, so Erin leaned against him as he held her arm. “See you guys.”
Abigail nodded, while Diarmuid went over to sit opposite her.
They simply stared at each other in silence, and a breeze brushed against their faces, bringing a chill.
“Should we go?” Abigail suggested.
“Where to?” Diarmuid asked.
“To see Lulu,” she replied.
“She’s probably tired from the long e journey too,” Diarmuid said “You can go tomorrow instead.”
Abigail agreed after some thought and stood up. “Let’s go back.”
Diarmuid followed and pinned her beneath himself in bed as soon as the door closed, leaving her gaping at him. “What are you doing?” The content is on
“What were you telling Erin?”
Abigail thought about it. “Nothing.”
And it was the truth.
Diarmuid stared at her. “Keep thinking.”
Abigail tried to remember again. “It’s just small talk. It’s really nothing “What was that about having a child myself?” he growled, his gaze dark just then.
Abigail was speechless and gave him a playful push. “I’m just kidding. Why so serious?”
“I can’t, but you can.”
With those words, he kissed her.
“Mmph…”
Abigail only shoved at him briefly before responding in kind.
They were soon stuck together like glue and pulling away briefly only seemed to send their passion blaring!
It was yet another beautiful, stormy night, and Abigail was eventually left nestling in his arms, her eyes half-closed like a languid kitten.
She felt soft and limp, just as she asked, “How did you send Zachary back to Zidonia?”
Diarmuid caressed her cheek just then, brushing her hair behind her ear. “Work. He’s been here for a while anyway, so it’s time he returned.” Still, Diarmuid had a feeling that Zachary knew about Lulu but never told him directly.
He was only too happy to go back to Zidonia when Diarmuid told him to- he would have asked something if he did not know or leave so quickly. Abigail closed her eyes drowsily then. “I’m going to sleep now.”
Diarmuid gently patted her back.
Abigail brought several books for Lulu when she visited the next day, since she was afraid Lulu might get bored.
The location of Lulu’s lodging was nice and quiet-perfect for recovery. “You know me well, don’t you?” Lulu smiled happily when she saw the books Abigail brought.
“I just think they’d be useful for what you’re about to do,” Abigail told her those were books on childcare.
Abigail helped Lulu check the nanny training center to choose a program so Lulu could attend it when she recovered.
Lulu did not thank Abigail-a simple thanks was no longer enough to convey her gratitude.
Her fresh start was all thanks to Abigail’s care and guidance.
After another two weeks and Lulu was mostly recovered, she attended classes on childcare training. Soon, she returned to Zidonia to get interviewed as a nanny.
With her face mostly changed, Zachary would not recognize her even if he saw her.
Erin might be pregnant, but James was busy with work, and she was keen to learn childcare early.
During a break, Erin sat beside Lulu and asked, “Are you pregnant?” Lulu shook her head-she just needed a license as a childcare worker, and that was the only way for her to be legally hired.
Still, Lulu was not keen to talk, whereas Erin was lively as ever. “I was bored being alone at home. I’m just a month pregnant.”
Lulu glanced at her belly, and then at her-the sweet smile on her face made it obvious that she was very happy.
“I would like a daughter,” Erin said then. “My cousin already had two sons.”
“You will,” Lulu told her.
“I hope so.” Erin grinned blissfully.
Class ended at 3 PM.
There was a chauffeur waiting for Erin, but when she saw Lulu by m herself, she offered Xulu a ride.
“Where are you going? I can take you there.”
“It’s fine. I can just get a cab,” Lulu told Erin-she never liked troubling others.
However, Erin proved too insistent for her, and Lulu eventually got into Erin’s car.
“Thanks,” she told Erin as she alighted when they reached herm home. Erimmadded and glanced at her lodging just then.
She had been there—James had arranged for Lulu to stay there.
As she stared at Lulu from behind, she thought to herself that she might be Abigail’s best friend or she would not have been arranged to stay there.
Raising the window, she then told the chauffeur, “Let’s go.”
However, when she came to the class the next day, Lulu did not show up.
Erin waited for another two classes, but Lulu still did not show up. After classes were over and she headed to the castle, she found Lulu and Abigail having tea in the garden just as she expected. The weather was good, and it was just right for them to stay beneath the tree shade. She smiled and made her way over. “Hey, Abigail.”
Abigail quickly beckoned when she was here. “Come, sit.”
Lulu was surprised that Abigail and Erin knew each other, especially since she was not familiar with the latter.
Abigail introduced her. “She’s Diarmuid’s sister.”
Lulu smiled. “What a coincidence.”
Erin smiled politely in return. “Yes, though I realized yesterday.” While Lulu appeared surprised, Erin explained, “James was the one who arranged for your lodging.”
Abigail added, “James is her husband.”
As Lulu realized with a start, Abigail had a servant bring Erin a glass of juice.
“We’re having tea, but you should have juice,” she told Erin-tea was not good for pregnancy.
Erin was only too happy to accept the gesture. “Thank you.”
“Aunt Erin.” Tommy arrived just then, and hugged Erin’s waist. “Are you going to stay for dinner?”
“Do you want me to stay?” Erin asked, and he nodded repeatedly. “Come here, I want to show you something.” Tommy tugged at her hand just then.
“Alright. Let’s go!” Erin smiled, allowing the boy to pull her along. “Slow down,” Abigail snapped, frowning.
